I have always been unhappy about my weight. Growing up, I was overweight for my age and height. I was aware of it, but did not know how to address it or how to start a weight regimen that I could follow. I would tell myself "tomorrow I will start dieting" However, that day would never arrive. During my teenage years, my weight fluctuated. Until, eventually I became frustrated and let myself go and reach my all time high of 248 pounds.
I started to feel ill and saw a doctor for a physical exam. The doctor recommended that I lose weight or otherwise I was at a high risk of becoming diabetic. Realizing that I needed help, I prayed to the Lord for guidance as I knew this was a problem that I could not handle on my own. The Lord placed an old friend in my path, who introduced me to Weight Watchers. With perseverance and help from my family and friends, I became a Weight Watcher Life-time member on 5-1-08 with a total weight loss of 89.2 pounds. I reached my goal weight which is something I never thought I could accomplish.
I have changed my approach on life. Now, I look at life with a positive attitude. I know that everything is possible if you set your mind to it.
Losing the weight was not easy, but I was motivated by my personal results and the success stories of others. I have learned that by making healthier food choices and incorporating exercise in my life helps with losing weight and with maintenance. My advise for anyone struggling with weight loss is not to give up, but to take it a day at a time and eventually you will see results. Si se puede!
I have received many blessings since my weight loss. I am healthier and more energetic. My self-esteem has improved. I actually enjoy going to the store and selecting an outfit to wear. It feels great to know that now I can choose a style that I like and in my size!
After losing the weight, I decided that I needed to exercise to tone up my body. I joined Stacy's gym on August of 2008 and I have enjoyed the work out program. I am especially glad that I joined the Biggest Loser competition, which has taught me so much. Since my enrollment in the gym, I have met new people, new exercise programs, and new beauty tips. Most, importantly I have met new friends that are fighting the same battle with weight loss.
Since my enrollment at the gym last year, My life has made many changes, I have met new wonderful people who I enjoy working out. I feel that during the training for the Biggest Loser, the group has grown closer. A new bond has formed. I want to thank Dina, Alexia,Casey, Eli, and Stephanie for being part of the Phat girls team and for your team support in the Biggest Loser competition. Last, but certainly not least, I want to give Stacy Roberts a big Thank You! For all your hard work and dedication in helping us during the Biggest Loser competition. We could not have done it without you. Great job ladies!!!
